Commentary for II Samuel 22:7

בַּצַּר־לִי֙ אֶקְרָ֣א יְהוָ֔ה וְאֶל־אֱלֹהַ֖י אֶקְרָ֑א וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע מֵהֵֽיכָלוֹ֙ קוֹלִ֔י וְשַׁוְעָתִ֖י בְּאָזְנָֽיו׃

In my distress I called upon the LORD, yea, I called unto my God; and out of His temple He heard my voice, and my cry did enter into His ears.

Rashi on II Samuel

In my distress I called to God… He hears. This is typical of the present tense it uses both past and future at the same time.10אֶקְרָא is in past tense and וַיִשְׁמַע is in future tense.
